Titus 1:1-4
I, Paul, have been appointed by God as his servant and as an apostle of Jesus Christ in order that I might lead God's people to know, believe, and practice the true teachings. I write this letter to you, Titus. May God continue to bless you.
I want youto teach the believers andto appoint elders.
Appointaseldersmenwhom no one can justly criticize.
Sincethereare many deceivers teachingwhatis false, whodonoteven know God themselvesandare unable todo any goodthing, rigorously convince thosebelieverswho follow false teachingsthattheyarewronginorderthattheywill firmly believeinthecorrectteachings.
Teach and urge the believers to behave in a manner that is consistent with the correct teachings in order that people will perceive that the teachings about God our Savior are very good.
God very kindly sent Jesus Christ to earth inorderthatGodmight save allpeopleandGod graciously trains usto behave inagodly manner.
Withfull authority, teach thesethings, urge the believers todothem, and correct those believers whodonot follow them.
Remind the believers to act appropriately toward authorities and kindly toward everyone.
God acted kindly toward us and mercifully saved us, even though formerly wewere behaving sinfully.
I want youto confidently teach this trustworthy message tothe believers inorderthattheywillbe constantly concerned with doing whatis good forothers.
Have nothing todowith foolish disputes about genealogies andaboutthe Jewish law; anddonot allow divisive peoplewhohave turned away fromthe true teachings to influence thebelievers.
Make every effort tocometomeat Nicopolis. Help Zenas and Apollos ontheir journey. Allthe believers shouldlikewise learn to devote themselvesto doing good deeds forpeoplewho especially need help.
