God formerly communicated with us through the prophets, but now he has communicated with us through his son, who is just like God.

God's son is greater thanthe angels.

We will not escape God's punishment if we ignore such a great message of salvation.

Godhas determined thatChrist, not angels orpeople, will rule everything.

Jesus, the creator ofeverything, istheonewhodiedfor us, makes us holy, and proclaims us tobehis brothers and sisters.

ItisJesus, not angels, who became a human to help usasour Supreme Priest.

Our Supreme Priest, Jesus, deserves more honor than Moses does.

Donot stubbornly rebel againstGodastheir Jewish ancestors did.

Beware thatyoudonot stop trusting in Christ.

Itwasyour ancestors, ones forwhomGoddid great things, who rebelled againstGod.

The Israelites failed to enter the place where they would rest; we must be careful not to act like them.

The Scriptures support the claim thatthereisa time when God's peoplewillrest eternally.

Wemustbe careful nottobe insincere about trying toenterthe place of eternal rest.

Let us come boldly toChrist, our Supreme Priest, to receive his gracious help.

As Christ suffered, he learned to be a compassionate Supreme Priest by obeying God.

Youare not ready formore advanced spiritual truth.

If you believers later reject the message about Christ, God will reject you.

But God willnot overlook allyouhave done forhim.

Weare confident that God will bless us ashepromised; hemadean oath to confirm thathewoulddothat.

There are ways in which Melchizedek was like God's Son.

Melchizedek was greater than Abraham.

The former Jewish priests werenot adequate, soa new onelikeMelchizedekhadtocome.

Jesus lives eternally asa Supreme Priest to plead withGodfor us.

Jesusisthe kind of Supreme Priest we need, becausehewas sinless.

The rituals that were performed by the Jewish high priests were only a model of what Jesus our high priest does in heaven.

The first covenantwasnot adequate, so God needed a new one.

A description of the man-made sanctuary that accompanied the first covenant.

Offerings thatweremade under the first covenant werenot able to remove a sense of guilt for sin.

Christ redeemed usby offering his own blood asa sacrifice.

Christhas put the new covenant intoeffectwithhisownblood.

The Jewish priests kept offering thebloodof animal sacrifices every year, but Christ sacrificed himself once totake away our guilt.

The blood of animals can never take away the guilt for sins.

Christ set us apart for God by offering his own body once asa sacrifice.

Scripture supports the claim thatChrist made onesacrificethatwillbe adequate forever.

Let us come to God and let him make us pure andhelpusto keep believing his truth and do thingsthat please him.

Ifwehave known andthen rejected the message about Christ, God willsurely punish us.

Remember how you accepted persecution because ofyour faith in Christ, and do not be discouraged if youare persecuted now.

Because of our faith, we confidently expect to receive God's promises.

Becauseofhisfaith, Abel offered a better sacrifice thanhis brother Cain did.

Becauseoftheirfaith, God blessed Enoch, Noah, andAbraham.

Allthosepeoplewho trusted in God died without receiving what God promised.

ItwasbecauseAbraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, the Israelite people, and Rahab trusted Godthathe blessed them.

Somewho trusted God gained great victories andotherswere tortured and killed.

Onlywhenwearetogetherwithallthesepeoplewho trusted God willwe receive all God has promised.

Since we know so many people with faith like that, we must put aside anything, especially sin, which hinders us, and we must strive to achieve God's will and concentrate on Jesus.

Donot become discouraged whenyouaresufferingasyou struggle against evil.

Sinceour sufferings aretodiscipline us, if wehavenot experienced God's disciplinewearenothis true children. We should accept God's discipline, becauseitisalwaysto help us.

Renew yourselves spiritually; go forward inyour Christian life; try to live peacefully witheveryone; seek tobe holy; guard against bitterness; donotbe immoral; anddonotrefuseto listen toGod.

Youhavenotexperiencedthe terrifying thingsyour ancestors did; youhave come toChristand benefited fromhis blood flowing foryou.

Weshouldbein awe beforeGod, whowill punish us ifwe reject him.

Love one another, be hospitable, and help imprisoned and other mistreated believers.

Respect the marriage relationship, and avoid covetousness.

Rememberhowyour former spiritual leaders lived and imitate their faith; since Christnever changes, donotbe diverted to strange teachings.

Wemuststop practicing Jewish sacrifices and rituals, and go toJesustobe saved, sincewedonothavea city like Jerusalem wherewemust offer sacrifices, but instead we wait fora future everlasting heavenly city.

Since Christ sacrificed himself for us, letour continual praise ofGodbeour sacrifice.

Continuallydogood deeds and share withothers, becausethis too willbeasacrifice pleasing toGod.

Obey your spiritual leaders.

PrayformethatGodwill quickly remove thethingsthat hinder my coming toyou.

MayGod equip youwith everything good thatyou need, andmay Christ be praised forever.

Patiently considerwhatIhave written inthis short exhortation.

Since Timothy hasbeen released from prison, hewill accompany mewhenI go to see you.

Greet your spiritual leaders andallother believers; the believers whoarefrom Italy sendyoutheir greetings.

May God act graciously toyouall.
