2 Timothy 1:1-2
This letter is from me, Paul, to you, Timothy.
IthankGodthatyou sincerely believe inChristJesus.
SoI remind youtodo fervently what God has enabled and assigned youtodo.
Neverbe ashamed eitherofthe message orofme, butbe willing to endure withme whatever we suffer becausewe tell the good news.
Many peoplehave turned away fromme, but Onesiphorus often cheered me up andwasnot ashamed ofme.
Let God empower you; and entrust the message to loyal/trustworthy people.
Endure withmewhatwe suffer for Christ Jesus.
Remind teachers about thethingsthatIhave told youand command themnotto quarrel; andbesurethatyouyourselfarethe kind of person thatGodwill approve of.
Have nothing todowith godless and foolish talk.
Avoid the bad thingsthatsome young people desire todo. Dogood instead.
Do not discuss foolish questions but gently instruct thosewho oppose the true message.
Realize that evil people will cause the last days to be difficult. Avoid such people.
Continueto believe whatyouhave learned andbeen assured of.
I solemnly command you to preach the true message and do everything that you ought to do.
Doyour best to come tomesoon.
The Lord will rescue me from everything thatis evil and bring me safely to heaven.
